Humble Beginnings

Fred Beans, founder and CEO of the Fred Beans Family of Dealerships, was fueled to be a successful entrepreneur at a young age and took a risk by purchasing the Big Oak service station in the late 1950s. He used his innovative marketing ideas and a strong work ethic to run a successful business. After purchasing a 25 percent share of Bill Marsh Ford in Newtown in 1972, business doubled in the first year due to his efforts. Beans then took ownership of J.J. Conroy Ford dealership on Easton Road in Plumstead Township, just north of Doylestown, on Feb. 28, 1975, and he continued to acquire new dealerships. During this growth, Beans made sure his company continued delivering fantastic customer service, employee training and development, and community enrichment. This visionary philosophy made the Fred Beans namesake what it is today: a family-oriented automotive group selling 17 different brands through 14 dealerships in southeastern Pennsylvania. Beans leads by example while mentoring employees and stands beside them on the sales and service floors at your local Fred Beans dealer. The Fred Beans Charitable Fund provides financial support to organizations and initiatives, both large and small, in the community and nationwide. When Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast in 2005, the charitable organization adopted Mississippi towns of Waveland and Bay St. Louis and raised $113,000 to build a daycare center through the Bucks-Mont Katrina Relief Project.
